Warcry: Challenges is an FPS well-nig speeding through short levels, looks potentially badass
Phew, I the like the count of this nonpareil. The name Warcry Challenges didn't barrack me when I heard it (perhaps I was just intelligent of Warboldness, a different game) and the developer describes it as the answer to the interrogative, "What if Doomguy had a intoxicated one Nox stand with Super Meat Boy?" It didn't really register for me what that meant when I heard it at the Future Games Show, but the trailer above grouped IT every last out.
IT looks like Doom, but you're rolling linearly through short levels, matchless-shotting demons in the head and using magic powers to go as fast as you throne.
"Make use of powers much as slow question, stomp, grappler or 'pressure' style melee, make 360-degree [turns] and backflips and above all, compete for the first of all place and improve your acquisition in finished 180 phrenetic challenges," writes the developer.
As a fan of Lovely Planet, stuff like Ratz Intagib, and way back when Quake and all those old guy FPSes, this obviously has me fascinated. (Though strangely, I never got into the new Dooms.)
Warcry Challenges has a Steam page, and will be out sometime in, well, the hereafter. Its release date stamp is listed American Samoa "2021-TBD."
